Located near the town of Semonkong, Lesotho, the Maletsunyane Falls, with 192 meters (630 ft.) high, is the highest waterfall in Southern Africa. Falling in a single drop, it creates a mist as the water plummets into a spectacular gorge. It is from this mist or fog that Semonkong – The Place of Smoke – gets its name.
